We are CIR!

We are the resident physicians at Riverside County Regional Medical Center, the County’s only
public hospital.

In these difficult times, the community is depending more than ever on institutions like ours, and we want to make sure the hospital is providing the best care possible, recruiting the highest quality physicians, and meeting the needs of the community.

Two years ago, we filed a petition to register the Committee of Interns and Residents/SEIU Healthcare as our union, a right we are entitled to under state labor laws. Unfortunately, the County continues to use a series of bureaucratic tactics to delay processing the petition.

We decided to join CIR for many reasons: to have a unified voice in the hospital, advocate for our patients, and improve work conditions. RCRMC housestaff should earn a competitive salary, have affordable health care benefits for ourselves and our families, and be treated like respected members of the hospital community.

In this economic crisis, we think it’s important that the County choose the right priorities and put money into patient care instead of into expensive attorneys to challenge our right to have a union.

Through this website, you can learn about our cause and our issues, about the hospital and the community that we serve, and learn how you can help the resident physicians at RCRMC have a voice in our workplace. Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks.
